Admit to God that you are a sinner. (Romans 3:23 NKJV – for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.)
Believe that Jesus died as a payment for your sins. (Romans 6:23 NKJV – For the wages of sin [is] death, but the gift of God [is] eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.)
Confess publicly your faith in Jesus as your Savior and Lord. (Romans 10:9-10 NKJV – that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.)
Grow in your discipleship to Jesus by following His example:
- Be publicly baptized. (Luke 3:21-22 NKJV – When all the people were being baptized, it came to pass that Jesus also was baptized; and while He prayed, the heaven was opened. And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”)
- Be gracious in showing the world that you love Him and that He is real to you by being obedient to God’s Word (John 14:21 NKJV – He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me…)
- Love others in heart and deed (John 13:34 NKJV – A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, . . . By this all will know that you are My disciples …)
